Fall in Love With Fall – Autumn Nature Lover Crown
You know we made pumpkin pie spice paint a couple of weeks back. We were wondering how to use the paint and then we found something perfect on Pinterest. There was lot of inspiration for leaf crown of fall leaves and that’s what we decided to do.
Autumn Leaf Crown Activity For Kids
You Would Need
Leaves from different plants/trees
White paper sheets
Strip of a sturdier
Paint brush, Scissors, Glue, Stapler
Strip from a sturdier paper (like chart paper)
How to Go About It
We went for a nature walk and collected around 15 or so leaves of a variety of shapes and sizes.
We laid the white sheets on the floor.
We took the paints in a flat plate, basically a container where it would be easier to dip the leaves for stamping.
Each leaf was dipped in the color from one side and stamped on to the white sheet. This resulted in colourful imprint of the leaf on the paper.
We kept on doing this for all the leaves we had. Once all of them were done, the white sheet was left to dry.
Then we cut a strip from a recycled chart paper. The strip was 1½ inch in width. For the length, we measured the strip around Little B’s head and cut accordingly. We used a stapler to staple the ends together. This was the base of our crown.
As the paint on the white sheet dried, we cut out the leaf prints.
The leaf prints were then glued/ stapled on the crown strip.
Ta-da…
Our fall leaf crown was a perfect project for the season. It had fall colors and fall fragrance all together.
Little B loved the project. It was a great one to keep her engrossed. In fact, she came up with the name for the project. She calls herself “nature lover” and it was a crown for her and hence an Autumn Nature Lover Crown. She got to paint and stamp and get herself dirty. What more can a 4-year-old ask for?
