Fruit Skewers – The Perfect Summer Snack
Sometimes I don’t want to eat at all in summers. The weather is hot and most meals are served hot. It just gets me irritated.
Especially the snack time. For me snack time means hot tea with hot fritters or samosas. But in summers, even thinking about hot tea makes me sweat. To satisfy my cool food craving, I found this amazing idea of a perfect summer snack.
Chilled Fruit Skewers Summer Snack
What Would You Need
Bamboo skewers
Any fruits of your choice (bananas, strawberries, muskmelon, kiwi, dragon fruit, pineapple – the possibilities are endless.)
How To Go About It
Cut the fruits that you are going to use. The fruit skewer would look better if you cut all of them in similar way. So you can slice all of them or dice all of them.
Them take your skewer and thread the cut fruits onto it. You can thread the fruits randomly or you can make a pattern.
Keep the fruit skewers in the refrigerator for about an hour.
Your chilled, juicy and flavorful summer snack is ready to eat.
Let me also add that children love making fruit skewers and love eating them too!
We made these The Cat in the Hat fruit skewers for Dr Seuss’s birthday this year.
These ones were made for Little B’s “Rio Birthday Party” as snacks for the kids to eat.

@kalaravi16 thanks for the kind words!
@Tamara I completely agree. My daughter is not much of a strawberry lover, however, since I have started to give it to her over the skewer, she can’t have enough of them! Let me know what fruit skewer you made for your kids.
I so want some now. These looked so simple and refreshing! You are a lovely mum Bhawna.
Cheers

That’s a wonderful idea. My kids love to cut up things and this will help them eat more fruit and less chips. Everything’s more fun on a skewer.
