Gift It! Card It! Bookmark It!
There were a lot of events that led up to this project. Teachers’ Day is around the corner, so Little B wanted to make something for her darling teacher at school. I was toying with the idea of making handmade business cards for myself. And Mr B was traveling so Little B and I had a whole weekend free for ourselves. We wanted a project big enough to last at least one day of the weekend.
We were essentially looking for Teachers’ Day gift ideas, something that Little B can make herself and also something that I can make my business card out of. Somehow we landed on the idea of making bookmarks. These corner bookmarks are really easy to make, they are a lot of fun and so we made plenty.

Corner Bookmark – Teacher’s Day Gift Idea
After the base of the corner bookmark was done, Little B embellished the bookmark with goofy eyes, teeth and horns and made it into a monster bookmark. We have used paper from our Eric Carle Tissue Paper Art project here.
I glued a plain white paper (3-inch square) at the back of the bookmark. Little B wrote here her Teacher’s Day message here.
You can embellish your bookmarks with different types of eyes, tongues, beaks, teeth to give it its own character. Here are some of the things we made – usually monsters, but also an owl, a minion and a penguin.
Handmade Business Card
I turned my bookmarks into business cards by pasting a 3-inch white square at the back and handwriting my information there –
These DIY corner bookmarks might just be the cutest thing we’ve ever made, won’t you agree? Do try these out and leave us a comment on how did they turn out for you!
