Grandfather’s Birthday Card Craft For Kids
With all the birthdays that the month of May saw, the closest to my heart was my father’s. I love him but unfortunately we have a love-hate relationship. We spend so much time fighting that we forget to tell each other that deep down we love each other more than anything else in the world.
My father contributed to shaping up of my personality immensely. What negatives I have, I owe it to him; what positives I have, I owe it to him. I remember him shouting over me for a task done half well; and I feel angry. I also remember him waking through the night and taking care of me tenderly in hospital; and tears swell up my eyes. There are things that I extremely dislike; there are things I respect tremendously.
I have started loving my father all the more since I had Little B. Sometimes I feel skeptical, but mostly I feel proud of the fact that I am growing up to be exactly the kind of parent that he is.
For this particular birthday of his, I wanted to show him my sincere appreciation. And I wanted this love to come from Little B (what more do grandparents love than their grandchildren!).
We wanted to make a birthday card for him which is personal and at the same time easy enough so that even Little B can contribute. We found inspiration at Handmade Happiness. Finally we came up with this
‘Nanaji’ in my mother tongue Hindi means ‘grandfather from mother’s side.’
I don’t think I need to explain how I made it because it is the easiest grandfather’s birthday card craft for kids. The card is also versatile and can be also given to grandmother or father or mother or may be anybody. Father’s Day is around the corner and the card can be used as a Father’s Day card with some edits. Just change the phrase on the card according to your own requirement – “hooked on my …………” (insert anybody’s name).
From the inside
Once again, a very happy belated birthday to my father and Little B’s grandfather.
