Sending My Love! My Stash of Handmade Valentine’s Day Cards
Of course I like being busy. But I hate that being busy with my professional commitments keeps me away from this blog. The weeks that go without writing here, are the times that I do not appreciate at all. I might have started off the blog as just ‘a timepass’ (yeah that’s my favourite word, even Little B knows it is!). However, now it has become my personal diary that I do not ever want to part with. It has all my ups and downs, all different shades of my life which linger between boring and adventurous. This blog is about people I love and it hence it is also about the love that I hold in my life.
So today’s post is all about Love. I am ignoring the deadlines that I have, I am taking out time to write here, all because I love doing that!
Here’s a fact about me (in case you haven’t figured that out already), I like doing things all by myself. I am like that old person who believes that the true reward for anything is achieved only if it is done the hard way – by bare hands. I have been following that since I was a little kid, much before I even knew what DIY was. I have been changing tube lights, painting rusted air coolers and fixing chipped walls from as long as I can remember.
And same is for appreciating people I love. I have been making handmade cards and gifts for my family members, hardly ever bought them that. Taking out time to make a card, and all the while thinking about whether the person you love will like it or not, there is definitely a thrill in that. At least for me. I might not be great at crafts (and seeing all the creative people on the internet, frankly I would say I am pretty ordinary). But that has never discouraged me, I love it so I keep doing it.
Owing to that, Mr B always knows what he will get from me on any important occasion – something handmade. The amount of handmade cards alone that I have made for him is insane. So much so, I have stopped making Valentine’s Day cards anymore because I have overdone them already.
This Valentine’s Day, I am not making a card for him. I have something else planned, which I would share here later. However, I felt like sharing a couple of handmade Valentine’s Day cards that I have made in the past. Zoom in while you look at the cards and you will see how easy it is to make them. They are almost like scrapbooks with one layer glued on top of another layer and so on. Materials used in making them are easy to find as well.
