Phone Case DIY – Rainbow and Sequins
Lately I have realized that I take up a craft project only when I don’t have anything else exciting going on. So am I really passionate about craft or am I into it just for passing time?
All I know is that craft gives me a push when I feel dull and weary (which happens way too often with me!). It tames my toddler like nothing else. When Little B indulges in a craft activity, she is on her best behavior – absolutely obedient and disciplined. Win-win situation for me the mother.
On one such tiring day, I thought why am I having a transparent phone case? I should do something about it. Little B loves rainbows and I love sequins, so this is what we both agreed on.
Rainbow and Sequins Phone Case DIY
You Would Need
1 transparent/clear phone case
Assorted colorful sequins (colors from rainbow family)
Clear glue (something which is strong enough for such a project)
Paper and pencil
How to Go About It
Outline your phone case on a sheet of paper.
On this outline that you have drawn, draw a rainbow. You can either draw curved lines for the rainbow (as I have) or straight stripes.
Now place the phone case properly on the outline and rainbow that you have drawn.
As we will avoid putting any mark on the phone case, this drawing is going to us a clear idea of where to stick what.
I have just drew 5 stripes for rainbow colors as I just had sequins in 5 colors. You can of course increase or decrease the number of stripes depending on what you have.
Start sticking the sequins in their proper places.
You can either apply glue to one entire strip at a time and stick sequins on it. Or you can apply glue to individual sequins and stick them up individually.
Within 5 minutes, I had this.
Let the phone case dry completely for 4-5 hours. After that tap of any lose sequins and reapply glue or sequins if needed.
I should let you know that I bought a cheap phone case so that I won’t waste money in case my project didn’t go as I planned.

Hi Satakshi, first of all, I loved your blog. I might soon try a thing or two myself! But couldn’t find the washi tape tutorial 🙁
My phone case remained in good condition for about 4 months. Most of the sequins stayed put (I used silicon glue and it is pretty strong). Couple of times one or two sequins did drop down (mostly because of my putting the phone in jeans pocket :)). But I stick them back. Even after 4 months the problem was not with the sequins but with the phone cover itself. As I have mentioned in the post that for my this “experiment” I got a cheap case, the case got a yellow hue which looked bad.
Hi.. I did a similar clear phone case using washi tape 🙂 I wanted to know if the sequins did last on the case and for how long, cause for my washi tape project some of the tape started peeling off in a short while itself..thanks 🙂
