Twinkling and Awesome! Last Minute Diwali Diya Wreath Craft!
Last Minute Diwali Diya Wreath Craft
You shouldn’t be surprised if you hear me singing it’s the most wonderful time of the year and other holiday fa la la la las already. You might say Christmas is far away, but is it really?
Moreover, being an Indian who has lived in multiple cities in the last decade, my winter holiday festivities start much earlier – in September actually. I have my Ganesh Chaturthi in Septemer and then Pitra Paksha in September-October; Navratri, Dussehra, Karwachauth and Halloween in October and then Diwali in mostly November; and then Thanksgiving in November and Christmas in December. Phew! It is crazy to think that in spring Mr B and I were avoiding carbohydrates however much we can and in autumn, come festivals, we are binging on carbohydrates however much we can.
But I am not complaining. Holidays are all about eating and enjoying food. And being an Indian in festival season, if I am not deep frying, I am not enjoying my holidays.
Holidays are also about decorating the house and making sure all rooms look jolly. That requires either buying décor stuff or crafting. This time I wasn’t feeling as passionate towards crafts as I used to till last year. Diwali was almost upon me but I wasn’t in the mood to deck the halls yet.
Then it was Little B who incepted the idea in my head. She wasn’t feeling festive because of lack of shimmer in the house and insisted that we must make sure that our house looks well prepared for Diwali. Being an obedient mum that I am, I instantly agreed saying “Yes Ma’am” and we were sitting in our art/craft room brainstorming.
After spending close to an hour in that room, this is what we came up with. If you are an adult making this all by yourself, you can make it even sooner.
