Whoo Hoo Thank You!
Remember the Eric Carle Tissue Paper Art Project that we did sometime back? I was clinging on to those papers but recently I got an opportunity to use them – through an owl thank you card!
Whoo-whoo-who-who-who-whoooooooo
The card is again an inspiration from Eric Carle and follows his collage style. It is so simple that there are really not much instructions for me to write here.
You just need to draw the object you want to make (in this case an owl) on a white sheet of paper. Make sure that this drawing is of the exact size that you want your final product to be of. Cut out your drawing.
Now you have to use this drawn cut out as a stencil. Keep this stencil on one of the printed-colored tissue papers and trace the outline. Cut along the traced line. Glue everything together.
Similarly cut different elements of the object you are trying to make from a white sheet of paper (like I cut eyes, nose and feathers). Use these cut outs as stencils and trace and cut over the colorful tissue papers.
Soon enough you will have the magic ready,
Add a nice subject and you are all done.
I am loving this card – it is so simple and yet so appealing. I am soon going to try to make many more of such cards based on Eric Carle’s collage concept.
Way to go Eric Carle!
